ASTM A913 High-Strength Structural Steel
Aeos®
Aeos ASTM A913 wide flange is made using a specialized quench and self-temper (QST) process and Aeos ASTM A1066 plate is refined through a thermo-mechanical controlled process (TMCP). These processes optimize the steel’s metallurgical grain, resulting in higher strength, increased weldability and reduced weld preheat requirements compared to traditional grades like ASTM A992, ASTM A572 and A709-70W. While QST and TMCP are additional processes in our mill, they occur in-line with our normal rolling schedule, making Aeos products readily available.

Sustainable
Aeos is one of the lowest-embodied-carbon steels of its kind, made with more than 95% recycled content using our circular, electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking process.

Cost-Effective Strength
Aeos’ high strength allows construction professionals to reduce tonnage, maximize structural efficiencies and deliver sustainable, cost-effective designs.

Manufactured in the USA
Aeos is the only domestically produced A913 steel. Construction stakeholders can design and build with confidence knowing it will be there on time, when you need it.

Welding Benefits
Nucor’s quench and self-temper process optimizes Aeos’ grain structure, resulting in reduced weld preheat requirements and optimized fabrication and erection.
