A traffic delineator post is a highly visible traffic control device used to guide and warn drivers by marking the edges of roadways, lanes or hazards and is designed to be durable, flexible and impact-resistant. Nucor manufactures BEND-BAK^® mild-carbon steel flexible delineator posts that bend without breaking, combining the strength and durability of steel with the flexibility of plastic and fiberglass.

A cable barrier is a flexible roadside safety system designed to prevent vehicles from crossing medians or veering off the road. Made of high-tension steel cables mounted on steel posts, cable barriers absorb impact energy and redirect vehicles, reducing the severity of crashes. Highway barriers are widely used on highways and interstates due to their proven effectiveness in reducing crash severity, particularly in preventing crossover accidents. 

Highway end treatments are safety devices installed at the ends of guardrails, barriers or other roadside structures to reduce the risk of accidents or injuries in the event of a vehicle collision. These treatments are designed to absorb impact, redirect the vehicle safely and prevent the vehicle from hitting a hard, rigid barrier. Nucor’s FHWA-approved end treatments include CRP Anchor, NU-TEN^® and Transition.

The NU-TEN^® terminal end is used to anchor NU-CABLE high-tensioned 3 or 4 cable barriers. All cables connect to the unique “trigger” post, which is attached to the ground strut, while concrete foundations and rebar cages complete the anchor set-up. The NU-TEN terminal end has been designed and tested to meet the evaluation criteria of NCHRP 350 Test Level 3 (TL-3) for a cable barrier terminal end.
